Cut Copy

The Australian trio fronted by Dan Whitford debuted in May 2004 with Bright Like Neon Love, a remarkable collection of retro, heavy-bass synth-pop that some would file under electro-clash. The record took a full year to be released in Europe and is still producing singles. My absolute favorite, the playful and evocative slice of space-pop 'Future,' was released as an EP last summer. The current one is the guitar-driven, Blondie-meets-Daft-Punk funky 'Going Nowhere,' packed with interesting remixes by Whitey and Digitalism. Check out the Kris Moyes' video for the song here.
