Battle

This past month of March saw the release of 'Tendency,' the proper debut single for South London's four-piece Battle. (Their first single 'Demons' was a limited release). With influences from 80's post-punk bands such as Gang of Four or even The Cure; plenty of guitar hooks, infectious bass lines and drum beats to get people cheerfully to the dancefloor; and self-deprecating, anthemic lyrics to grab the attention of the local music press and acquire 'next-big-thing' status, Battle should fit right in with the current crop of indie-rock bands coming out of the UK --and may well outlast some of them, if the promise and strength of these early singles materializes in their yet-to-be-completed debut album.
