I'm with Stupid

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are back with 'I'm with Stupid,' one of their catchiest and most irresistible pop numbers in years. Inspired by Tony Blair's staunch defense of George Bush's war in Irak, this is "a love song for our times," as the TV host said after their performance on BBC's Top of the Pops last week. The single, the first from Pet Shop Boys' upcoming new album Fundamental, is being released the week after next in the UK, but still has no distributor in the US --a pity, given the country's current mood towards Dubya.
Check out the funny video-clip starring David Walliams and Matt Lucas from the popular British sketch comedy TV show 'Little Britain' playing Neil and Chris to an unimpressed audience:

Battle

This past month of March saw the release of 'Tendency,' the proper debut single for South London's four-piece Battle. (Their first single 'Demons' was a limited release). With influences from 80's post-punk bands such as Gang of Four or even The Cure; plenty of guitar hooks, infectious bass lines and drum beats to get people cheerfully to the dancefloor; and self-deprecating, anthemic lyrics to grab the attention of the local music press and acquire 'next-big-thing' status, Battle should fit right in with the current crop of indie-rock bands coming out of the UK --and may well outlast some of them, if the promise and strength of these early singles materializes in their yet-to-be-completed debut album. Check out their video for 'Tendency.'

Subtitle

Such is the translated title of Josh Rouse's new album (his sixth, and second since he moved to Spain). Subtítulo is yet another little gem of soft folk-rock complete with lush melodies, subdued production, subtle lyrics, and the uncanny ability to evoke the lazy, drowsy feeling of a relaxed Sunday morning doing nothing in particular --and enjoying it. Here is the album's first single 'Quiet Town.'
